FAMILY SERVICE TERMS

A clear framework for every session.

These terms describe how tutoring services coordinated by SetOne operate. Sending a match request is free and does not commit you to book. The terms apply when a family accepts a tutor match, a rate and a first session proposed by SetOne.

Service and matching

SetOne gathers the student’s needs, selects a relevant tutor profile and coordinates administrative follow-up. The tutor’s name, format, rate and any introductory-session offer are confirmed before services begin. Tutors deliver sessions as independent service providers who must follow SetOne’s rules. No academic result, grade or admission to a school can be guaranteed.

Rates, sessions and cancellations

The applicable rate is the one accepted by the family before the first session. Families pay SetOne, not the tutor directly. A cancellation made at least 24 hours before a session is not charged. A cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice, a no-show or family lateness may be charged based on the reserved time. A session cancelled by the tutor is not charged. Any error may be reported through the private confirmation link or to setonetutoring@gmail.com before payment.

Safety of minor students

SetOne takes reasonable screening and follow-up measures, including an interview, identity and education validation, references and checks relevant to work with minors. For an in-home session, the family provides a suitable, safe setting, remains reachable, and ensures that a parent, legal guardian or authorized adult is present in the home for the entire session unless SetOne agrees otherwise in writing. Without prior written authorization from both the parent and SetOne, the tutor must not transport the student, arrange an outing, provide unrelated services or communicate privately with the student outside authorized channels.

Online sessions

The family provides a suitable device, Internet connection and workspace. A parent or authorized adult must receive the session link and remain reachable. Sessions are not recorded unless everyone concerned gives prior written consent. SetOne is not responsible for an interruption caused by the family’s equipment or connection, but will seek a reasonable solution when a technical problem prevents the session.

Responsibilities and lawful limits

Each party remains responsible for its own acts and omissions under applicable law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SetOne is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for a tutor’s actions taken outside the tutoring assignment or contrary to SetOne’s communicated rules. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from SetOne’s or its representatives’ own acts, intentional or gross fault, or bodily or moral injury. The family’s mandatory legal rights remain fully applicable.

Concerns and ending services

The family must promptly report any incident, concerning behaviour or quality issue to setonetutoring@gmail.com. In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency services first. The family or SetOne may end future sessions at any time; completed sessions and applicable late-cancellation charges remain payable. SetOne may immediately suspend a match to protect a student, family or tutor, or when an essential rule is not followed.

Privacy and governing law

Personal information is handled under SetOne’s privacy policy. These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable in Quebec. For questions or corrections, email setonetutoring@gmail.com.
